Introduction
My wife and I purchased property in the Northern Neck in 1991 and, within months, we realized that this was the place that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives. I spend my time introducing other people to the treasures the Neck has to offer while my wife operates the successful Crow’s Nest Café.
My approach to real estate is simple and it comes from spending 25 years dealing with over two dozen agents when buying property and selling property for myself. Simply put, I treat people honestly. I treat people the way I want to be treated. That was the way I was raised and it is the only way I know how to be. Also, my mother always told me that whatever you do in life make sure you love doing it (these comments are also echoed by Bill Gates BUT my mother said it first). For the first half of my career I loved being a biologist but I must say that introducing people to the Neck has a heck of a lot of fun. I realize that everytime I meet a client/friend in the office, grocery store etc and they show that unforgettable Northern neck smile, this profession is a lot of fun. Education
I have spent most of my life learning about the chemical, physical, biological and geomorphological aspects of the aquatic environment. After spending my formative years studying the microscopic life in my Grandfather’s pond, I undertook undergraduate and graduate studies in the aquatic sciences. Even today, I spend my spare time investigating the life under my pier and in other Northern Neck waters.
Hobbies
As someone who owns seven watercraft, I split my free time between sailing/kayaking, and the rest of the time I spend in my woodworking shop carving gold leaf signs. All my clients receive an estate sign to display on their piece of Northern Neck Heaven.
